Sewing my own shawls
It has been around 6 months since I've started donning the hijab. Alhamdulilah! :)
However, I haven't found the right type of shawl to call it my favourite.
It's either the material is too translucent, or too thick for this weather in Singapore.
There is this online dealer that I might like its shawl. But the price, masyallah! $30 for a 2-metre cloth. I can get 2 long full-sleeve dresses with that amount (slowly changing my wardrobe to dresses). So yes, I always have trouble picking out shawls to fit my outfit and I would end up always wearing the same over and over. I have a drawer full of shalws that I could hardly keep it closed.
How I wish I have bought more shawls from saudi. It is crazy, I tell you. Only homsa riyal (5 riyal = $1.70). You just need to pick the right design. Let me find the pic for you. I managed to buy maybe 8 or 9 exotic pieces. :)
Oh how I missed Medina.
And that is why, I need to find the right material of fabric and sew it myself. Sounds easy, just hem all four sides of cloth. Wait till I try doing it myself. I must be motivated to learn how to sew!
