Budgets and splurges
Tonight, I feel like writing a post on $$. I don't even want to say the $$ word. As usual, Thursdays is usually the day of self reflection and self realization. It makes you wanna let go of all the dirty things you do and try to make amends however way possible.
For the past few years, I've quit writing wishlist for myself. I've realised tt my life goes on fine without having the things tt I want. I try packing my own lunch to work. Carrying a bottle of water wherever I go. I've cut down on buying new clothes for the existing ones are still so pretty. It's a matter of layering and creatively mix matching them.
And I've learned from dearest Z himself.. That.. The more satisfying purchase is when you're buying for someone else. And that, is one of the sedakah tt shd be done. First, sadakah for yrself. Yr own clothes, yr own necessities. Secondly, to yr family. And finally to those in need. He, for one, is the most generous man I've met. I shd really learn from him.
And for today's takeaway:
There's a story tt was shared tt..
Some sahabat gave 1/3 of their $$ for sadakah. Some 1/2 and some ALL. But there are also some who gave sebiji kurma. And some setengah kurma for sadakah. And it all shows tt no matter how little you give, how insignificant you think it is, you'll still get yr blessings in return. If not in this lifetime, maybe in akhirat. Insyallah.
